Sometimes, darkness can seem grusome
Then, you look up to see awesome
firmament, and to your delight
a singular silent penlight
of gases that erase the blight.
It starts a rapid race of white
that fills the evening with bright
pictures that remind us it's right
to believe in the fight
to bring eternity to light.
Earth and heaven are a twosome
That keeps dark from being loathsome
