A Chicago Valentine

by Wetbelly01

The author has placed a warning on this post for violence.

Chicago, Illinois... February 14, 1929... St. Valentine's Day...

Seven members of Charles "Bugs" Moran's Northside gang
meet at a garage, expecting a delivery of 'bootleg' whiskey...

At around 10:30 am they are raided by four 'policemen' who are actually associates of Al "Scarface" Capone's Southside gang.

Lining the seven men against the back wall, faced toward the wall...

The 'policemen' gun them down with Thompson submachine guns and shotguns.

What has never been mentioned in any historical account,
was the Valentine's Day card with the inscription..."Happy Valentine's Day... Fellas!"
that was left at the scene of the crime.
The public outrage from this 'massacre' marked the beginning
of the end for gangland Chicago back then.
