Sibling Bond/Part Two

Even though Sebastian had kept his promise to Eve and brought back their twin sons, she discovered he was keeping a secret. Not only did Sebastian sneak into the Breedline Covenant to retrieve Arius and Tidus, he also kidnapped Tessa. As Eve’s curiosity stirred, she eavesdropped on a conversation between Sebastian’s twin brother Thomas and Lilith in hopes of finding out what they planned on doing with Tessa. She was shocked and confused after hearing Lilith was Tessa’s biological mother.
Distraught over witnessing Garrett, Thomas’s guard—who walked out of them room where Thomas and Lilith had Tessa and shot himself—Eve panicked and ran upstairs to her twins nursery.
When screams came from the nursery, Sebastian immediately recognized it was Eve and ran upstairs with Lilith and Tessa following behind. After Eve finally managed to compose herself, she explained to them what had happened to Arius—he’d suddenly vanished into thin air. With no other explanation, Sebastian realized his son had the ability to travel through a portal and most likely went back to the Breedline Covenant to be with Eve’s twin sister Mia.
Meanwhile, using a portal, Arius takes his twin brother Tidus, Eve, and Mia back to the Breedline Covenant. As the Covenant prepares to rescue Tessa and take down Sebastian, something interferes with their plans.

The mood was grim and strained at the Breedline Covenant. Seated inside the library, waiting for everyone to attend, was Tim, Drakon, Alexander, Helen, Jackson, Kyle, Celina, and Casey. The moment Jem and Jace arrived with their adoptive parents, Sarah was ushered away by their daughter Cassie, who promptly took her to the kitchen where Mia and Angel fed Natalie and Arius pancakes.
As Bruce Carmichael strode in with Steven, Tim knew something was wrong by the look on their faces.
Bruce kept his eyes focused on Tim. “We’ve got bigger problems. Someone’s breached in th’ Covenant’s grounds,” he said, his voice laced with a thick Scottish accent. “The outside alarm has been tripped.”
Tim’s gut tightened and his dread increased.
Jace shot out of his chair, anger gripping his insides and twisting viciously. “It has to be Sebastian! He’s come back for Arius!”
Near to his exploding point, Tim reacted to Jace’s outburst. “Calm down, Jace,” he said firmly. “Now is not the time to lose it. We’ve got to stay focused. I need you to pull it together and keep a clear, level head.”
“This is bullshit,” Jace seethed, balling his fists tightly at his sides. “It’s time to dispense with the analysis and go take that son of a bitch down now.”
A course of agreement circled the room.
Jace raised his gaze at Jem with determination etched in every facet of his face. He wouldn’t entertain any other option. No matter what, Jace had to end this with Sebastian and get Tessa back. Without her, he had nothing. She was the heart and soul of this Covenant. Without Tessa, none of them would ever be whole.
Tim rubbed his forehead wearily. “Yes, I agree,” he said surprising Jace and the others. “But we’ve got to stay strong and stand together. We’ll protect this Covenant even if it means having to take down anyone that stands in our way.”
“Tim, my God, Tim!”
Everyone turned to see Angel standing in the open doorway nervously wringing her hands. In the distance, Natalie was crying, and Cassie and Sarah’s concerned voices were rising as they tried to comfort her.
“What happened, Angel?” Tim asked sharply.
“Mia and Arius... they’re gone,” Angel said painfully. “She took Arius in the other room to change him. I wasn’t worried since one of the guards went with her. When I realized how much time had passed, I became concerned so I went to check on them and found the guard with his throat cut and Mia and Arius were gone.”
“Shit!” Jace spat.
It was a testament to the severity of the situation that Jace didn’t instantly earn a reprimand from his adoptive father for the cursing.
Jem leaned forward with his elbows on the table, burying his face in his hands. God, now Sebastian had Mia. He couldn’t bear the thought of losing her. Grief knotted Jem’s throat, choking him when he lowered his hands and tried to speak. So he sat there, hands shaking as rage and sorrow battled for equal control of his emotions.
“It’s time to end this,” Jem finally managed to get out. “No matter what our laws proclaim, we have to kill them all.”
Tim briefly closed his eyes, the nightmare only growing more horrific with every passing second. His family was getting ripped apart in front of his eyes, and he wasn’t going to be helpless and watch it all happen. He was forced to do the unthinkable, which meant they would have to take lives. It was a reality of what they had to do to survive. The decisions they were faced with right now was some place between right and wrong. But at the end of the day, they lived with the choices to keep their family and Covenant safe. When it came down to saving his precious family from the monster like Sebastian Crow, he’d play dirty. He’d fight dirty. And he’d take down anyone by any means necessary.
“Bruce, stay here with the girls,” Tim commanded, taking control of the situation. Shifting his focus toward Alexander and Jackson, he said, “I want you two to stay here with everyone and keep them safe. The Guardians cannot help us fight, but they will bar whatever’s on our doorstep from getting inside this Covenant.”
Jackson nodded and opened his jacket, revealing a leather holster that supported a weapon. “We’ll keep them safe.”
Alexander frowned as he rose from his chair and Tim held his hand up. “I know what you’re thinking Alexander. Please—I need you to stay here—to protect our family.”
It comforted Alexander that Tim included him as a part of his family. Exhaling a deep breath, Alexander nodded in agreement. “I promise—I’ll do whatever it takes to keep them safe.”
Tim nodded. “Thank you, Alexander.”
“What now?” Drakon asked.
“Sebastian may not be the only one we’re dealing with,” Tim pointed out. “I’ll need you to bring up the surveillance cameras. It may be our only shot at what we’re up against.”
They were in down and ready mode, plotting their plan of action, and it frustrated the hell out of Drakon that they were so damn unprepared. Even his computer geek skills weren’t helping at the moment as he scanned over the camera’s monitor. His hands shook as he punched in codes and brought up the surveillance footage from outside the Covenant.
“Son of a bitch!” Drakon exploded.
“Christ,” Jace blurted after he saw what displayed on the screen. “What the hell is that?”
“They’re hybrids,” Steven spoke out in disgust. “Created by the same bastards that kept me locked up for years.”
“Can they be killed?” Tim asked with worry etched into his voice.
Steven nodded. “They’re stronger than any Breedline, but they’re not indestructible.”
“What will kill them?” Jem queried. “Silver bullets?”
“No,” Steven said in a low voice with his eyes focused on the camera’s monitor. “Silver cannot destroy them.”
Jace shot him a look that suggested his patience was wearing thin. “What the hell will kill them, Steven?”
Steven wheeled around, shifting his focus on Jace and said, “Me.”

Terror tugged mercilessly at Mia as she stared up at Sebastian, shivering at the calculated way he looked at her. There was no mistaking the expression of triumph in his eyes. He knew he’d won and he was relishing every moment of her helplessness as she kept a firm hold onto Arius.
“Well, well, well,” Sebastian said in a dragged-out fashion. “You look so surprised to see me.”
“What did you do with Tessa?” Mia demanded. “Where is she?”
He shook his head. “That’s none of your concern.”
Mia lowered her head as grief welled in her heart, spreading until her entire chest ached. When the silence fell between them, she lifted her chin, staring at him with pure hatred.
“Ready to admit defeat, Mia?” he asked mockingly, walking around her in a tight circle, pacing the room he’d taken her to. “Where’s your precious beloved now?”
Her knees wobbled, but by sheer grit alone she managed to remain standing tall and defiant. “Go to hell, Sebastian.”
His lips formed a wicked grin, and it chilled Mia’s blood. “As I recall, not so long ago, you loathed the Breedline,” he said, his voice settling over her like a suffocating fog. “What changed that dark heart of yours?”
“If Jem doesn’t find you first, I swear I’ll kill you myself,” she hissed.
Sebastian’s eyebrows went up, and then he laughed. “I like a good fight,” he murmured. “Tessa never fought. She was too weak, too helpless. But you, Mia? Ah, I will look forward to having you naked in my bed. I have a feeling it will always be a fight with you.”
Frozen by his admission, a spark of rage flashed in Mia’s eyes. Her jaw tightened as she stared in horror at the man who had hurt Tessa. “What about my sister? You would do that to Eve?”
He smirked. “What Eve doesn’t know won’t hurt her. Besides, she’s too busy taking care of my sons.”
“You sick bastard,” Mia said through gritted teeth. “You don’t give a damn about Eve or your sons. It’s all about control. You don’t care about anything but yourself and what you can dominate. You’re God in your own mind, and you think everyone is a pawn to do what you want when you want.”
Sebastian shrugged. “Think what you want. It doesn’t change the fact that I’m holding all the cards. You belong to me now,” he said icily. “Forget about the beloved you once loved. You’re mine to do with as I please.”
Mia’s mouth gaped open. She was so furious that she couldn’t even see straight. Sebastian’s features blurred in front of her, and her knees nearly buckled. “I hope you burn in hell,” she said under her breath.
“You’ll learn to do exactly as I want or suffer the consequences,” Sebastian snapped. And then he shifted his focus behind Mia. “Corbin,” he called out. “Take Arius back to Eve.”
She froze when she heard the sound of a door opening. And then she felt Arius being taken out of her arms as she tightened her hold on him, refusing to let him go.
“If you try to put up a fight, I’ll shoot you right in front of the baby,” a deep, cold voice demanded Mia didn’t recognize.
“Okay,” she said in defeat, witnessing Arius’s eyes widen with panic as he was lifted from her grasp and taken out of the room. When the door locked from the outside, she could hear Arius crying for her.
When Mia looked up at Sebastian, there was no triumph in his gaze. No sense of victory. He just looked… broken.
“He’s just confused,” Sebastian said with bitterness. “Arius doesn’t know the difference between you and Eve, but he’ll learn.”
In the awkward silence that followed, a bright light completely engulfed Sebastian’s entire body, spreading like a band of fire.
Mia held her hand up, shielding her eyes from the brilliant glow casting off of him. When the light dissipated, she lowered her hand and caught the shadowy image of Sebastian just as he vanished into nothingness.

It comforted Alexander that Tim included him as a part of his family. Exhaling a deep breath, Alexander nodded in agreement. “I promise—I’ll do whatever it takes to keep them safe.”
Tim nodded. “Thank you, Alexander.”
“What now?” Drakon asked.
“Sebastian may not be the only one we’re dealing with,” Tim pointed out. “I’ll need you to bring up the surveillance cameras. It may be our only shot at what we’re up against.”
They were in down and ready mode, plotting their plan of action, and it frustrated the hell out of Drakon that they were so damn unprepared. Even his computer geek skills weren’t helping at the moment as he scanned over the camera’s monitor. His hands shook as he punched in codes and brought up the surveillance footage from outside the Covenant.
“Son of a bitch!” Drakon exploded.
“Christ,” Jace blurted after he saw what displayed on the screen. “What the hell is that?”
“They’re hybrids,” Steven spoke out in disgust. “Created by the same bastards that kept me locked up for years.”
“Can they be killed?” Tim asked with worry etched into his voice.
Steven nodded. “They’re stronger than any Breedline, but they’re not indestructible.”
“What will kill them?” Jem queried. “Silver bullets?”
“No,” Steven said in a low voice with his eyes focused on the camera’s monitor. “Silver cannot destroy them.”
Jace shot him a look that suggested his patience was wearing thin. “What the hell will kill them, Steven?”
Steven wheeled around, shifting his focus on Jace and said, “Me.”

Terror tugged mercilessly at Mia as she stared up at Sebastian, shivering at the calculated way he looked at her. There was no mistaking the expression of triumph in his eyes. He knew he’d won and he was relishing every moment of her helplessness as she kept a firm hold onto Arius.
“Well, well, well,” Sebastian said in a dragged-out fashion. “You look so surprised to see me.”
“What did you do with Tessa?” Mia demanded. “Where is she?”
He shook his head. “That’s none of your concern.”
Mia lowered her head as grief welled in her heart, spreading until her entire chest ached. When the silence fell between them, she lifted her chin, staring at him with pure hatred.
“Ready to admit defeat, Mia?” he asked mockingly, walking around her in a tight circle, pacing the room he’d taken her to. “Where’s your precious beloved now?”
Her knees wobbled, but by sheer grit alone she managed to remain standing tall and defiant. “Go to hell, Sebastian.”
His lips formed a wicked grin, and it chilled Mia’s blood. “As I recall, not so long ago, you loathed the Breedline,” he said, his voice settling over her like a suffocating fog. “What changed that dark heart of yours?”
“If Jem doesn’t find you first, I swear I’ll kill you myself,” she hissed.
Sebastian’s eyebrows went up, and then he laughed. “I like a good fight,” he murmured. “Tessa never fought. She was too weak, too helpless. But you, Mia? Ah, I will look forward to having you naked in my bed. I have a feeling it will always be a fight with you.”
Frozen by his admission, a spark of rage flashed in Mia’s eyes. Her jaw tightened as she stared in horror at the man who had hurt Tessa. “What about my sister? You would do that to Eve?”
He smirked. “What Eve doesn’t know won’t hurt her. Besides, she’s too busy taking care of my sons.”
“You sick bastard,” Mia said through gritted teeth. “You don’t give a damn about Eve or your sons. It’s all about control. You don’t care about anything but yourself and what you can dominate. You’re God in your own mind, and you think everyone is a pawn to do what you want when you want.”
Sebastian shrugged. “Think what you want. It doesn’t change the fact that I’m holding all the cards. You belong to me now,” he said icily. “Forget about the beloved you once loved. You’re mine to do with as I please.”
Mia’s mouth gaped open. She was so furious that she couldn’t even see straight. Sebastian’s features blurred in front of her, and her knees nearly buckled. “I hope you burn in hell,” she said under her breath.
“You’ll learn to do exactly as I want or suffer the consequences,” Sebastian snapped. And then he shifted his focus behind Mia. “Corbin,” he called out. “Take Arius back to Eve.”
She froze when she heard the sound of a door opening. And then she felt Arius being taken out of her arms as she tightened her hold on him, refusing to let him go.
“If you try to put up a fight, I’ll shoot you right in front of the baby,” a deep, cold voice demanded Mia didn’t recognize.
“Okay,” she said in defeat, witnessing Arius’s eyes widen with panic as he was lifted from her grasp and taken out of the room. When the door locked from the outside, she could hear Arius crying for her.
When Mia looked up at Sebastian, there was no triumph in his gaze. No sense of victory. He just looked… broken.
“He’s just confused,” Sebastian said with bitterness. “Arius doesn’t know the difference between you and Eve, but he’ll learn.”
In the awkward silence that followed, a bright light completely engulfed Sebastian’s entire body, spreading like a band of fire.
Mia held her hand up, shielding her eyes from the brilliant glow casting off of him. When the light dissipated, she lowered her hand and caught the shadowy image of Sebastian just as he vanished into nothingness.

They do not have the ability to change into the Breedline wolf, but they do need blood from them to survive. With the power to hypnotize, most Breedlines have minimal respect and credence toward the half-breed species.
WICCA (or Wise One) - According to the Breedline species, a Wicca is the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts, and necromancy. A Wicca is also considered to be a demonic spirit. It is unclear to the Breedline if they act under the orders of the devil, or they are simply not understood and treated as outcasts. They have the ability to do white magic (good) or dark (evil).
GUARDIANS (a.k.a Spirits of the Forest) - They originated during the Middle Ages with the purpose of protecting all creatures, especially the Breedline, from the destruction of any creation made by a dark Wicca. They have the ability to stay invisible with the power to move through any barrier and over any distance instantly.
THERIOMORPH - This species is born with the genes of a Breedline, but do not have the ability to change into a Breedline wolf. They shape shift into an enormous black panther. They possess powers of mind manipulation and random visions of the future. They must use the drug dopamine to suppress their urges. Their eye color shifts into a glowing lavender when their Theriomorph nature takes over. The Breedline see them as a threat to their species.
ADALWOLF - A species that has the power to shift from their human form into a beautiful creature, three times the size, resembling half man and half wolf. Born with super-strength, they can move from one place to another in supernatural speed. Their eyes take on the appearance of two-shimmering diamonds. With the power to regenerate their own cells, an Adalwolf will stop aging at thirty. The moon has no power over them. And an Adalwolf is immune to silver. They can bond with any species.
Jace Chamberlain (a.k.a The Beast) - He is a Breedline species which later discovers his birth father - who is possessed by the Chiang-shih demon - murdered his mother when he and his twin brother were four years old. Raised by their new foster family and their uncle Jacks, he later discovers he was born with a curse of the Beast. With the help of his twin brother Jem, and his bonded mate Tessa, they help him cope with his rage to keep the Beast at bay. He's an IT engineer and is the lead singer and plays acoustic guitar in the band Chaos.
Jem Chamberlain (a.k.a The Chosen Son) - He is a Breedline species and Jace's twin brother. He carries the gene of the Chiang-shih demon that gives him the power to create a portal, and a force of electric energy used as a weapon and other powers he discovers later. His bonded mate is Mia Blackwood, and he's an IT engineer and the drummer in the band Chaos.
Tessa Fairchild - She was born into the human world and later discovers she's a Breedline. Abandoned by her parents, she was raised by her Aunt and Uncle without the knowledge of being born a twin. After she meets Jace, they become bonded mates. During her first change into her Breedline wolf, she is the new Breedline Queen. She is an inspiring artist.
Dr. John and Sarah Chamberlain - They are Jace, Jem and Cassie's adoptive human parents. They are physicians in a children's unit, and also donates their time to the emergency center.
Chester and Amelia Ewan - They are called Guardians - a species originated during the Middle Ages with the purpose of protecting all creatures, especially the Breedline from the destruction of any creation made by a dark Wiccan.
Jackson Gray - He is Jace and Jem's biological uncle - Katlyn Gray's older brother. Although he carries the gene of the Breedline, he does not shift into a wolf. Only Breedlines born with an identical twin have the ability to change into their wolf. He's a medical supply pilot.
Mia Blackwood - She is a half-breed and Jem's bonded mate. Abandoned at birth and raised in human foster care, she later finds her twin sister, Eve.
EVE - She is a half-breed and Sebastian's bonded mate. Growing up in human foster care, she spent her entire childhood abused until Sebastian saves her. Scorned from her past, she lashes out in anger, living a life of crime later to discover her twin sister, Mia Blackwood. After realizing the Chiang-shih demon possesses Sebastian, Eve clings to the past in hopes of reuniting with her beloved. Now that Sebastian is finally free of the demon, she has trust issues, worried he has an alternative plan for their sons.
Sebastian Crow - He is a half-breed, and Eve's bonded mate. After he had been killed by Jace in self- defense, he was possessed by the Chiang-shih demon after the Angel of Mercy cast him out of Alexander's body. As he tried to portray Sebastian's life, Eve finally figured out his secret. Keeping her captive only to survive on her blood, he later develops feelings for her. The demon creates a death army, determined to dominate the world and unleash his wrath amongst humans and the Breedline. Now free from the demon, he is determined to reunite with his beloved Eve who is kept prisoner by the Breedline Covenant awaiting trial for her past crimes against them.
Alexander Crest - He is a Breedline who was possessed by the Chiang-shih demon before birth. Murdering his family, Alexander kidnapped his twin's bonded mate, Katlyn Gray. Keeping her prisoner against her will, she becomes pregnant with his twins. As she managed to escape before she gave birth, Alexander eventually kills her in a fit of rage. Returning for his chosen son twenty-two years later, he is determined to convince him to join his army. After the battle between the Breedline, the demon is finally cast out of Alexander setting his soul free. For the demon's past crimes, Alexander is pardoned and must reside in the Breedline Covenant. Praying for forgiveness, he reunites with his twin sons, Jace and Jem. As he fights to keep his new family safe, romance blossoms with Dr. Helen Carrington.
Tim Ross - He is a Breedline species and head council of the California Covenant. Angel, his bonded mate - who is a half-breed - has Tim's daughter they named Natalie, after her sister.
Angel - She is a half-breed and Tim's bonded mate.
Natalie - She is a half-breed and Tim and Angel's daughter.
Kyle Jones - He is a Breedline species that resides in the California Covenant. Having lost his family to a house fire at childhood, his uncle Tim Ross has raised him since. Celina Baldolf is his bonded mate. He's a mechanic and also Jace and Jem's close friend, and plays bass in the rock band Chaos.
Casey Barton - He was born of the Breedline species, and lives in the California Covenant. He was adopted by Tim Ross's brother and carries a deep dark secret, afraid to reveal to the Breedline. He is a clothing model and plays backup bass and keyboards in the band Chaos.
Dr. Helen Carrington - She is a Breedline species and a physician at the California Bates hospital for both Breedlines and humans. Later, she discovers Jace and Jem carry a gene, possibly used for a cure to stop the aging process in her species. After Alexander's demon is banished, he is pardoned for all past crimes and welcomed into the Breedline Covenant. When he meets Helen, they become bonded mates.
Drakon Hexus - He is a Breedline species. At a young age, his first bonded mate was killed by her father. In a rage, he hunts and kills her murderer, breaking the Breedline's True Law. Shunned by his Covenant and forced to live as a rogue wolf, he's promised his humanity back if he joins the Chiang-shih demon's army. After Drakon discovers the demon's plans to destroy all humans and half-breeds, he betrays him and joins forces with the Breedline. As time passes, he bonds with another mate, Cassie Chamberlain.
Cassie Chamberlain - Adopted at age two by Jace and Jem's adoptive parents after her mother abandons her. Later, she discovers she is a Breedline species and bonds with the handsome Drakon Hexus. She is a nurse practitioner, specializing in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Celina Baldolf - She is a Breedline species with the power of a Wiccan, but only practices white witchcraft. Her twin sister Taliah - a dark Wicca - murdered their parents when they were twelve years old. Dr. Helen Carrington is their aunt, and Kyle Jones is Celina's Breedline bonded mate. She is an editor for a local publishing company.
Steven Pasquale - He inherited the genes of a Breedline and an Adalwolf. He was taken from his mother and forced to endure a life of endless, painful experiments by a German physician's, Dr. Hans Autenburg and Dr. Hubert Crane. Without the knowledge of his real family, Steven finally manages to escape his captors, locating his fraternal twin, Tessa Fairchild.
