Jealousy--
is the snap of the strap
in the hands of its owner;
drawing rivers of blood
as it spills from its donor.
Jealousy--
lurks in the creases of low self-esteem,
hiding behind an envious green.
Jealousy--
oft lies in wait
and dons a disguise;
it cultivates gossip
while cloaked in dark lies.
Jealousy--
knows not a stranger, so good folk, beware,
resist the temptation to visit her lair.
