The Colors of Deceit

by Sharon Meda

Tears flowing freely from deep blue eyes
Bespeak the crush of her heart's true desires
Her ivory skin growing paler still
Numbed, she feels not the encroaching chill

Lying down upon the emerald field
Trying to forget a black heart revealed
White clouds of hope lifting high overhead
Her bleeding heart, now seeping deep red
