Writing

by Aussie

Westward he rode
Ready to be in teaching mode
In olden days, word of mouth
This poet came from the south
In haste he scribbled poems of men
Natives and bushmen, history his den
Giving the written word to ignorant men

Acrostic Contest Entry: Writing.
One of our most famous story and poem writers, Andrew Barton "Banjo" Paterson - 1864 - 1941.
He was affectionately called 'Banjo' Paterson, as he went from camp to camp, he taught writing and played his banjo around the campfire. His most famous poems include: Waltzing Matilda, The man from Snowy River and Clancy of the overflow. Waltzing Matilda was made into a song and is a historical song we all know. Thanks for reading.
