Peace of bears

by Rasmine

That is a bear track.

Yes, a mother and, um, two babies.  See the smaller prints?

Think about it – they slice through you and rip you apart with those claws.

That’s why I have this!

Maybe you should put the gun down and learn to respect with dignity this beautiful form of nature.  Why would you want to destroy it?

That is why I am here.

But why kill it?  Why not let it live?

Because it may not let me live.

They will not bother you if you do not harass them.

But, if they come to kill us…

Maybe we just jump up and down and scream.  That would scare them off.

But I want to say, ‘I killed this big bear.’

The print is larger than my hand.  But it would take a gentle man to let it live.

No…well, I don’t know.

Put the gun down and fight with no weapon.  The bear has no gun or knife.  Just make noise and it will scare them.

Okay, I’ll try that.

Maybe we will see some other wildlife too, like a deer or rabbit.

Sounds peaceful.
