The Waiting
by randman58
Be patient-one moment please
Your time will come-expect delays
Thank you for waiting-take a number
Please hold-The line starts here
Just a second-give me a minute
Your expected wait time is....
Seems time is in the waiting
by ticks and bits, minutes and hours;
while I play the patsy simmering in silence,
sure to be waiting on someone or something,
anything or nothing at all...just waiting.
Longing illusive resolutions
to countless metered moments,
indifference even then comes vested,
if not in outcome then in quenching
this thirst for ending one delay
to speed forward to another
and its all too familiar plot
of frenzied stops, cursed clocks
and forever un-boiled pots.
Seems my time is in the waiting.
