A Tranquil Peace . . .

by Dolly'sPoems

A Tranquil Peace . . .

A soothing mood, a tranquil crown,
wind is calm, the clock slows down;
The sun is still, the day unwinds,
no one can spoil these precious times.

The sea bed rinse, a gentle ripple,
waves to shore are just a trickle;
My mind soon drifts into a dream,
I'm floating on the purest cream.

I feel soft feathers on my skin,
dreams draw my spirit further in.
Debussy singing in my ear,
there is no fear when you are near.

I'm walking on the air of summer,
where flowers bloom like no other;
Sweet lavender, sage and Jasmine,
take me back to where we've been.

The hazy humid moisture bays,
where wild berries and olives graze.
My skin turns brown, my hair like silk,
and local goats provide the milk.

The coast-line softly blends like paint,
everywhere you look is quaint.
My soul infused with heavenly peace,
when I first saw the shores of Greece.

Recognized

I recently smelt Jasmine and Lavender and it took me back to my long two month sailing holiday in Greece in 2014, a memory I will forever treasure.

I took this photo of Paleokastritsa in Corfu in May 2014
