style--symmetrina--invented by FS writer pantygynt
The topic for the Symmetrina , is to write a first person Symmetrina from the POV of one of the animals in that Bethlehem stable. Any adaptation of the traditional Christmas story will do and I don't suppose the ox, ass and sheep were the only animals there, be as original as you wish, you rats and roaches. The symmetrina stanza is five lines long.
1. Line one, An Alexandrine Hexameter (a line of 12 syllables). The 'a' rhyme.
2. Line two, a pentameter (a line of 10 syllables or 11 sylables if it has a feminine ending. The 'b' rhyme.
3. Line three, a tetrameter (a line of 8 syllables or nine syllables if it has a feminine ending. The 'c' rhyme.
4. Line four, as for line two. The 'b' rhyme. [10syls.]
5. Line five, as for line one. The 'a' rhyme [12 syls.].
