Abecdarian Poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt Write an abecdarian poem, using the 26 letters of the alphabet chronologically. An abecedarian poem is a special form of an acrostic poem, in which the initial letters of the words beginning each line or stanza spell out the alphabet in order. |
impediments - obstacles
stoically - in a manner of enduring hardship without showing feelings
sticktoitiveness - ability to stick to it like flypaper
jettison - discard something that is no longer wanted
purviews - ranges or areas of consideration
logarithms - You really do want to know this?
Ok, it's a term used for a method in higher mathematics to simplify calculations. I was going to tell you to Google it, but decided to save you the trouble.
abstention - the act (really non-act) of restraining oneself from indulging in something
xenophobia - intense dislike or fear of other countries
Armageddon - a catastrophic event destined to destroy the human race
zed - another word for Z (Someone xenophobic would likely have added a nasty remark about countries insulting Z by insisting on using zed instead.)
