Our Hearts Renew

by Dolly'sPoems

Our Hearts Renew
(Sonnet)

Oh can my dreams of you be faced with truth?
My eyes are closed reliving yesterday;
When spring gave birth to love when in our youth,
Old age we thought would never come our way.

From heaven now you look upon the years,
So many setting suns and moonlit nights;
The flowering buds of life and love and tears,
Our legacy lives on in new birthrights.

When death permits a union in the stars,
My final path will be a dream come true;
No longer close my eyes to see what's ours,
Our souls will fuse, our hearts will then renew.

I will forever be your only bride;
Our heads together laying side by side.
