Empathy for a friend with cancer

You're Not Heavy

by June Sargent

If I could ease the pain you feel
Absorb it into my soul, I would
If I could help you walk this road
By carrying you on my back, I would
If I could wipe away those tears
Replace them all with happy smiles, I would
To make the load a little lighter, my friend
Let me be whatever you need
