A lesson I had to learn (free verse)

Let Others Get Joy From Serving

As I began to suffer from back pain
I had help from many loving friends
I didn't know how I could repay
their kindness to me in my need.

Then the Lord clearly showed me
I did not have to repay them at all
but to thank them, letting them know
how grateful I felt deep within.

For years I had been the one to give
and took much joy in that giving
now the Lord is showing me
to let others be blessed by giving.

Recognized


The problems with my back and my eyesight have required me to accept help from others. I had always been a helping and serving one, and to have to accept help was a hard lesson for me to learn. I still need a lot of help and it will be just a few months and I will be living with my oldest daughter and her husband. I am so grateful that I have a home which I will be welcomed into.
