Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
Soldiers and Veterans remeber today

Honor Reaches The Outer Rim

by danpald

Honor reaches the outer rim
Every place on earth does spin
There we find someone to march
Keeping our freedom home tonight

Soldiers march in distant lands
Some remain to hold the land
Always ready to receive a call
Where life may end before too long

Even as a medic on homeland base
Does not mean you are not in the race
Called to serve within the hour
Some place that comes under hostile fire

Just to wear with honor the uniform
Means you earn the heroes title
Still there are those beyond the brave
They wear medals often to the grave

I was an Army Medic stationed at a USA Army Hospital in the USA. One day we were on call because of the threat of riots. This was during the Viet Nam War and many times these riots were very dangerous. We fortunately did not have to do but it did remind me of what it meant to be a soldier.
