I find Myself Confounded

Questions of Rage

by artemis53

Give me a break
or at least some empathy.
I am tired and have been broken,
pieces shattered about
and I've not the strength
to clean them
from the floor.

Is death good to you,
a darkened lover
who consumes you in flames?
Will she come back to you
again and again
to touch you
and lie her head
upon your chest?

Is she better than me?
Is she better than the rest?

You seem to be at peace
as you sleep
within the ground.

Do you know that I stand here?
Can you perceive
I come around
in gypsy colors
that you once loved so much
but I barely make
a sound?

Does she ache when she sees you?
Does she reach out for your touch?
In cold and harsh elements
one hand
can do so much.

But I will not be partnered
to homes
of reddened clay.
I am a creature of this Earth
and live
within the day.

So if the dark beguiles you
that's where you need to stay
but know that I'll confront you

When night

proceeds my way.

I have found that sorrow and anger walks hand in hand and that many secrets are stored beneath the Earth. Someone else has him and so begins my rage whether it be real or perceived only within my mind, it exists.
