Pepper and Raven

The Quest

by Bichon

Pepper shook out his brown and white pelt with a sigh. Raven, his brother, kept a close watch on him.

"I don't think this is a good idea," Pepper said worriedly.
"Hey, relax Pepper!" Raven replied gruffly, his black ears twitching in annoyance.
"But what if something happens, we might never see the humans again," Pepper ranted on.
"Jeez, do you ever stop?" Raven snarled at his brother, baring his shiny fangs.
"We are doing the right thing, Pepper. The longer we're missing, the more food in our dishes when we go back."

The two brothers marched on, Raven leading confidently, Pepper trailing behind.

A loud grumbling erupted from Pepper's stomach. He buckled over dramatically, clutching his round tummy with feeble paws.

"Brother, I can't go on. Mom and Dad said there's chicken for dinner tonight, I don't think I can wait much longer!"

Raven groaned at the sight of his brother and his performance.

"Dude, seriously? Think of all the fresh meat in our bellies if we stay out a little longer!" Raven moaned.

Pepper looked up at his brother with a pleading gaze, their eyes locked.

Raven growled as he broke the contact, agreeing regretfully to go home.

Just something I tried out. I got the inspiration from my dearest aunty?¢??s dogs, Podge and Rodge.
