Panic Stations

by doggymad

Robert was jolted out of his slumber by a shriek of distress emanating from the kitchen.

"Hang on darling I'm coming," he shouted as he leapt from his chair. "Try not to panic."

Nothing could have prepared him for the scene of devastation that awaited him.
Vanessa was rocking back and forth and sobbing bitterly. All he could decipher between sobs were the words.

"My nail, my nail, I've broken my nail."
