So you want to be a Politician?

So you want to be a Politician?

Eaton schooled, was never fooled,
His wit was quick with humour,
Sincerity and integrity,
Soon became the rumour.

His course was set, and he would get,
Status and position,
He held those coats, to win those votes,
He had great ambition.

To number ten, he joined the men,
Minister now in power,
The tabloid press, beat on their chest,
Another flower to sour.

It did not take long to sour his song,
His history was the subject,
Hand on her knee and so you see,
His past was less than perfect.

He fell from favour, time to savour,
Truth can leave its mark,
Ability with no integrity,
Can darken any spark.

Not much has changed since Liz's day,
When heads would fall and roll,
Conspiracy is rife and free,
And it will take your soul.

Sir Michael Cathel Fallon is a British politician of the Conservative Party serving as Member of Parliament (MP) for Sevenoaks, England since 1997. (Not sure he was Eaton schooled, that was poetic licence).

He was identified by the Sun Newspaper as the cabinet minister who repeatedly touched the broadcaster Julia Hartley-Brewers knee at a dinner in 2002 though Hartley-Brewer herself played down the incident, saying she was not remotely distressed. Nevertheless he has resigned from his job.

There seems to be some kind of conspiracy to bring down the Conservative party here in England!

Liz = Queen Elizabeth I
