God's feathered warrior
peeks in my window
his eyes request
bird seed,
his gray-white feathers
move towards heaven

he chases away
a bluejay
allowing a
chickadee to
dine with him

he motions for
the bluejay to
return
sunflower seeds
disappear

the young dove
perches like
a noble soldier
at his post
