Time and Life

by artemis53

All things must come
and all things shall go
for time has not the luxury
of standing still.
It's Master can be harsh
and allows for no dallying.

All that one may do
shall be swept away,
propelled by the Zephyr
that clears the fetid air
as well as the moments,
once thought forged in stone,
but are susceptible and fragile
to this Element,
and are easily erased.

It is a strong wind that blows
and there shall not be a trace
of your yesterday,
only memories left
yet, Time has no control over
the ethereal
nor corporeal thoughts
that are embedded deeply
within one's mind.

For they shall always remain
to serve a great purpose,
necessary for growth
in lessons learned
for future use,
as well as comfort elicited
by better times.

For one may be
a weary and aching entity...
a brooding spirit left
with no choice
for the die has been cast
and the minutes
were never meant to last

and one must pay

their toll.

So I shall let all go.
A necessary release
but, past joys shall always be wrapped
in gossamer and ribbons,
seemingly left whole,
tucked within a healing heart
and the confines
of a sometimes tortured

I use this song often for it always brings me answers to hopeless questions.
