Sometimes I can be very lonely,   
'cause I get to see Mommy only.
My mommy said she'd see about that,    
and get me a dog, or else a cat.               
I could have one, and not the other.
Last year she promised me a baby brother,
but they were all out of boy babies at the store.
I'm glad she didn't buy a sister. They're a bore.
Now I really want a puppy. That's my only wish.
I hope this year Mommy won't just get me a new fish.
