IT'S GONNA BE A LONG TIME (2:32 min.)
(intro)
It's going to be a long time
It's going to be a long time
It's going to be a long time
A long time from now

(V1)
Walking out on the streets
Not many people that we meet
Pass us by with a smile
Every... day

(V2)
We were brought up on dreams
Learn to hope then to scheme
In the streets, the streets, the streets
Of our survival

(chorus)(change rhythm & cadence)

It's a dream window shopping at night
And a pleasure of the warm moonlit night
But when the chill   is in our bones
We don't want to, don't want to....
Call this home...
NO WAY!

(V3)
Looking through the trash
We are trying to make some cash
Without work we have to roam
Can't find a job without a home

(V4)
We tried to hide and disappear
Don't look afraid when we stare
We'd like to go and get away
But we are trapped so here we stay

(Ending)
It's going to be a long long long long long long long time
It's going to be a long long long long long long long time
it's going to be a long long long long long long long time
From now

(pt. of V1)
Walking out on the streets
It's going to be a long time from now…
END

(ADDED VERSES in 2014)
(V5)
Even a nickle or a dime
Is more than welcome anytime
We can do most anything
Give us a chance / we'll even sing

(chorus 2)
It's not our dream to be the way we are
And not a pleasure washing windows on a car
But we seem not to vision an hopeful end
And don't want to dont want to
Beg again
No Way...
(repeat V1)

It has an upbeat rhythm and somewhat Grateful Dead type of music with great guitar work. Just the opposite type of music of a tragedy that these people face.
I chose this type of upbeat music so people would listen.
I wrote the song in Sacramento while walking the Streets at night.
I and five other great musicians got together and in an art studio recorded and the song in 2005.

Pays one point and 2 member cents.
