When love moves out, hate moves in

Hate

by B.B. Rose

Love
waxes
and wanes, but
hate burns steady.
Its dark flame remains
smoldering, deep inside,
fed by embers of anger,
those memories of years of lies.
Vowing never to be burnt again,
not even hate warms a cold, lonely heart.
