A conversation with Mom

The Talk

by pbomar1115

I went and visited my mom

Our talk, as usual, was calm

The talk had nothing near hatred.

It was more like the sacred

We never discuss matters of the day

I sometimes wonder if, who or what to obey

Discussing politics mixed with religion

I think that would kill that white pigeon

So, I barged in and changed the topic

I wanted to show, I was not myopic

I centered the talk on stuff

I wanted to appear as if I hadn't enough

I discuss things practically in type

She never, oh never listens to hype

Music, singers were the order of the day

It had nothing to do with who or what to obey

Today, I pride myself on being a cooperator

I did not come close to being an agitator

Then when the talk ended

Everyone was happy, just as intended.
