Murder in Lake L.A.

by michaelcahill

Johnny Four Specs. Damn, almost the last person I'd expect to see under the circumstances. I didn't know he was a lawyer. Now, the court says, he's mine. We were just kids back then ... kids bein' kids. How third-graders came up with such a cool nickname, I'll never know. Johnny Four Specs is pretty clever compared to "Stink Face" or "Poop Pants". He wore two pair of five-and-dime reading glasses. I guess his family was poor. "Glasses Face" would've seemed the best we could do. "Four Specs" don't seem so cruel. Well, they say I killed the Mayor's daughter. They're screaming for blood, and I'm ... well, I'm hoping bygones are bygones. I just wish he didn't know about Priscilla Pennington and her Lake L. A. murder twenty years ago. Of course, as my lawyer, he couldn't squeal, could he? Hell, it was his fault anyway.

Geez, I'm sure I've written prose before. LOL

Well, I'm here to encourage others. :))
