Grandpa's Alpha and Omega

"To Grandpa"

Reluctant to enter, I kick
and cry.

 Having made my footprints,
I proudly die.

Short Poem contest entry

Life's clock goes "TIC!" Reluctant to enter the cold world outside Grandpa breached, moved his buttocks to the birth canal and yet, strong hands pulled at his feet. He kicked and cried--said goodbye to the warm bed he loved so well. He journeyed through life making footprints in the sand, his old bones popped and ached. Then laying his frail body on the old feather bed, he accepted his final earthly moment. Life's clock goes "TOC!" Thanks for reading my work! Best wishes wherever you are.
