Fire, Rain and Bloodstains!

"To My Elite Friends"

We bellow--then forge the fire in the pits of hell!
Our blood ran red on the sand,
we stumbled, then fell.

Thank God for sending the rain and washing the
stains-- from the uniforms we
 wore so well.

"Hurrah!"  I yelled--and we fought like hell,
then when the steam and smoke
had cleared away,

We crawled among the body parts, with heavy
hearts--sang a sad song, then
fought another day.
