Yup, you know...
A Bum.

Kinda disheveled his way
up to my parking lot.
I was in a hurry.
In my car.

You know, important.
Like you.

Well, pedestrians have
the right of way,
you know-
sidewalk and all.

So, I stopped.
So, he stopped.
I waved him ahead.
No, he waved me ahead.

He won the waving contest.

I pulled right in and parked.
As I got out, I thought...
He probably has just made it
across my parking lot.

I decided to be
one hell of a guy.
So, I hailed him-
"Thanks for being so polite."

He looked up,
mumble, mumble, mumble.

I said, "Hey, thanks for waving me on in."

He looks at me and says,
"Ain't that the way
the world's s'pposed to be?"

Well, that...just
stopped me in my tracks.

"Why, yes sir, it most certainly is."

He replied, "You're a nice fella.
Have a wonderful day."

"You too," I said.

He smiled slightly,
started shuffling again
as if...not bound by time,
and said,

"I always do."

As I entered my office,
a quick, strange, thought
jumped out at me.

Something I thought
my gut
would never say to me.

Did I...just...talk with Christ?
