Insight Gained From Observing an Ant

by Ogden

The ant’s a miniature creature;
you can’t see all of its features,
(Small’s why we can’t see all),

It’s a certain surmise -
If not for their size,
there would be no
chance for ants
to be
ants

Ants,
As some
people know,
are delicious
to birds and to bats,
spiders, and even fishes,
(but usually not to cats).
(Although they often get the chance,
most Americans seldom eat ants.)

You’re lucky you were not born an ant.
It would be worse to to be a plant,
and be eaten by an ant.
People just can’t stand ants,
whatever ants do.
You are lucky
you are
you.
