Political activist and legend

Paul Robeson

Political Acrostic Poems Wanted Contest Winner
Political activist, though not politician,
Actor's fame gained him needed recognition,
United Nations received him warmly and smiled,
Listened intently to him, as his singing beguiled.

Risked his career for the civil rights movement.
Outspoken against Imperialism's intent,
Beautiful baritone, talented through and through,
Educated at Rutgers, and in London, too,
Singer and actor, a lawyer and athlete,
Outcast and blacklisted; his reputation's defeat,
Never deterred him - his legacy is complete.
