Newly created form - An Eclipse Poem

After the Fall

by ~Dovey

Gold leaves upon the water
swirling in crystal currents
signal Autumn's transference --
allurements to passing eyes

shaded by the cloudy skies
ominous -- as it implies
sparring angels in disguise
hurling lightning bolts, their cries

thunderous -- in Winter's rise
power threatens emergence;
swirling in crystal currents --
gold leaves upon the water.

An Eclipse Poem - a new form created by me. (Kim Watson 8/20/17)

The focus is on imagery and motion. It is one image crossing over another image. Cross rhyme, onomatopoeia, and double entendre are additional elements that are encouraged. There are three quatrains and the lines are seven syllables each. The rhyme scheme is as follows:

ABbc cccc cbBA (The capital letters are refrain lines.)

Motivation: In my local poetry group we were challenged to create a new style of poetry and write three poems in this new style this week. This is the first of the three I've written in the form I've created and named an Eclipse poem.

All feedback on this style is appreciated.

Kim
