A chapter in the book Logan's Poems 3

I Am the Dragon of Westbrook

by Barb Hensongispsaca

I,
my dear,
will breathe fire
into the air,
I'll try not to scare
while you stand over there.
I want you fully aware,
that even though the sirens blare,
I still plan to take you to my lair.
Where you will be none the worse for wear.
You will come to no harm ... I swear.
There's something I want to share.
A sight that is so rare.
So please don't despair.
I have a pair
of kids for
you to
care.

You must teach my kids to be fair
watch for man's snare
do not compare
and never stare

You teach them manners with some flair
to them declare
always beware
don't take a dare

I'll teach them flight, prey they'll compare,
how to ensnare
mangle and tear
hunt in midair
