There's a moment of time
All day, here and there
that for no apparent reason
none at all, that I can tell
a swell of tears will suddenly develop
They just arise to flood, from out of nowhere

It could be the lyrics being sung
in a favorite song,
a scene played in a TV commercial
or a possible reminiscing thought
that leaves me feeling empty
like I don't belong

I know it's not the fault
of that "older woman's" special time
At least I'd have something relevant to blame
And I haven't been stood-up
waiting on a no-show date
Gave dates up; they've become too hard to find

There's got to be something in the air
that you and I, we all breathe
Only the effect on me
sets the tears a'comin, once again
Could be a hidden message behind the flow
Full of sorrow; will someone permanently leave?


I did check outside tonight
to see if we entered into a full moon
They say a full moon can
make us stray to crazy
But where I live, for some unknown reason
there's no moon showing; I only heard a loon

All I can do for tonight is
change what and who I think on
Turn off the radio that's
playing those sad songs
and turn the TV to any comedy show
Maybe the rest of the night, my tears will be gone
