responding to Joy and Robyn's challenge, free verse w/rhymes
The front door suddenly swung open
with a bang, right into the wall
That's my mom, just arriving home
Squealing in a high pitch, bouncing with glee
over something she said, she had found for me
Whatever is it that she has found now?
As I'm walking into the kitchen
I could see that she was fumbling, noisily
at the bottom of a brown paper bag
She's getting frustrated, pulling on a tag
Suddenly, with a snap of her wrist
out comes a blob in bright brilliant pink
"It's just your size, I couldn't resist"
Here I was sure it would be a toy
But bright pink? Wish I were a boy
"You know, it gives good luck, it's magic
for whoever wears this pink top.
Put it on before you check the mail"
I felt like a billboard, blinking away
Suppose to wear to school, on the first day
Made it to class, secret was totally safe
until the sweat started to roll, profusely
down the center, on the spine of my back
"It's so hot in here!" had to take off my coat
Heads turned and stared; wanted to crawl into my tote
Luckily, the teacher finally speaks,
All heads turn to read their papers
All but one, the cutest of them all
I stared into his eyes; they were so dreamy
A magic top, that brings about thoughts so steamy
I sprinted a short marathon back to my home
Excited to tell my mom, that I was in love
"That's nice, but that pink top is suppose to
get you, really good grades, for your college picks.
Not for you to fall in love, you're only in grade six!"

It was a pleasure to do this challenge of Joy and Robyn's. the challenge is to write about a school supply that has magic and it's suppose to be kept a secret. In no particular poetry form but include some rhyming.
