I felt all the years I'd missed
Turn into joy

The first time I held your hand
Gave me feelings no one could understand
I'd never been with a boy

The first time we went on a date
I felt as though it wasn't too late
To begin

The first time I was with you
I thought about my unhappy past
Little did I know our romance would not last
