Whitney Poetry is also known as an American Asian Poem. This is a syllabic form, created by Betty Ann Whitney. It has exactly seven lines. Syllable pattern: 3, 4, 3, 4, 3, 4, 7 and no rhyme is required but acceptable if desired.

A Whitney is written as follows
The first line has three syllables
The second line has four syllables
The third line has three syllables
The fourth line has four syllables
The fifth line has three syllables
The sixth line has four syllables
The seventh line has seven syllables
