There's one thing we all should show
One thing we should never neglect
There's one thing we all should know
And that's how to show one respect

Respect is such a simple word
To have it is so right
Sometimes good to be seen not heard
To many people's delight

So all you young ones give us a break
Who treat us oldies with disdain
You won't have respect when you partake
And ya really have nothing to gain

Respect is something you have to earn
You don't get it served on a plate
This is something you have to learn
It's time that you appreciate
