A humorous rendition of the advantages of dancing

iSolo Baila! (Just Dance!)

by Badger_29

"Welcome to the human comagedy" Brother Badger
The author has placed a warning on this post for violence.

 When this comedy
twists and turns around
and becomes a tragedy,
don't put on a frown-

~just dance!~

It really doesn't matter
if there is music playing.
I know you will be gladder,
with the style you're displaying.

Just relax, and close your eyes,
and feel the rhythm of the beat.
They will be surprised
at the way that you compete-

as you resist their friction,
by the smile on your face.
The "drama", their addiction,
will put them in their place!

I went to a gala circus,
a mischief-maker started hating.

The clouds overhead were cirrus,
their wispy tendrils translating:

to an even atmosphere,
and a lazy, tranquil day.
Beneath the clouds, the sky was clear,
as the music began to play.

So I looked him in the eyes,
and I started dancing.
Then, to our sincere surprise,
the horses started prancing!

Then a hyena joined in,
laughing at that hater's plight;
which made the monkeys begin,
to fling feces, to his utter fright!

The seal slapped his approval,
then deftly balanced a ball.
We shouted for his removal,
as night began to fall.

Then everyone started grooving,
to the festive sounds they heard.
To the "outcast", we were moving,
who looked and felt absurd.

We descended upon the stranger,
who, by now, was cryin';
his eyes conveying danger,
as we threw him to the lion!

Who proceeded to gobble him whole,
then dance a gay jig of his own.
Spectacular was his role,
as he courageously danced alone.

So, when a "hater" gives you lip,
do what you know is right:
Smile and move your hips,
and just dance off into the night!

comagedy: comedy + tragedy. As you know by now, I like to combine words, and this sounded better than "tragomedy"

I love foreign languages, and I chose Spanish for this title, because this seems like something that would happen in a Hispanic setting . . .

This poem was inspired by my room-mate, Mike L., who loves to dance . . .
