A chapter in the book My Reminders of LIfe 3

I Have Denied You

by Barb Hensongispsaca

I feel like Peter did when he
denied he knew You thrice.
Within a short two weeks I have
denied I knew You twice.

But now my faith is not the same
as what it was before,
a piece has been removed from it-
cut from it's very core.

I know that You're my Father and
You treat me like Your child,
for I can always feel You here,
Your touch is gentle...mild.

The powers that we feel do not
belong to only You...
the demons of the darkness have
their extra powers, too.

Some uphill battles I have had
through every step of life...
from child to teen - a mixed up time -
to mistress, then to wife.

My heart feels like it's losing ground
one small chunk at a time;
my soul cries out for lasting peace
with each and every climb.

I know that You, I did deny
I ask that you forgive;
and understand me just because
of trials that I've lived.

I know that we can't understand
Your final master plan;
we'll never know the reasons of
Your thoughts you've kept from man.

We have no hold on family
that we embrace with love,
and there's no hint of future days
when we'll be called above.

There are no clues to tell us of
our life and of our death...
no hint to tell us when we will
be taking our last breath.

We're at the mercy of your plans
and timing of our days;
does Satan have that one control
because he knows our ways?
