I stared in the mirror, studying my face, makeup, lips and eyes. I was still frightened, not knowing what he would say. I paced in the receiving room, hearing my heels on the marble floor, waiting for him to arrive.
A car drove up the circular driveway. The butler opened the door.
"Good afternoon, Dr. Wagner. A young lady has been waiting to speak with you."
"I wasn't expecting visitors, Hans."
"She said it was urgent."
The door opened.
"Hello Daddy."
"I'm sorry, but, I don't have a daughter."
"I tried to tell you I was different for years, Dad."
