'Twas early one morning just after sunrise,
when crying was heard from something small in size.

"What's wrong, little Vi'let?" asked the daffodils.
"I can't find my fam'ly. They should be here still."

We slept through the cold tucked in our little bed.
I slept in through spring thaw. They're lost", Violet said.

The flowers all gathered to calm poor Vi'let.
"Have faith, little one", said Jack-In-The-Pulpit.

"Don't cry, little Vi'let", Sunflower boomed loud,
as he bent down farther to see through the crowd.

"My seeds will fly and search," Dandelion said.
"I want to help", snapped Snap Dragon from her bed.

Lilly of the Valley sang a soothing song,
while Daisies danced in time to help her feel strong.

When little Vio'let smiled, the Glads were so glad.
The Morning Glorys laughed, then no one felt sad.

All the other flowers tried to ease her fears.
Iris bent down to her and wiped off her tears.

Tulip wormed her way in to give her a kiss.
Then the garden snake laughed at them and hissed.

"If you would have assssked me, I ssssaw what happened.
Sssssee that housssse over there? Sssssixth one from the end?

A little girl livessss there with her mom whosssse ill.
The girlsss mom lovesss flowersss, but can't climb the hill.

The girl went for her mom and looked all around
till she found the vi'letsss growing on the ground.

She picked them for her mom who sssmiled with delight.
They now adorn her room ... what a lovely sssight."

Little Violet was proud to know where they were,
and hoped that one day someone would pick her.
