A daily ritual

A morning at home

A MORNING AT HOME

As the tide blankets the morning shore
Another sunrise breaks the horizon
Every surfer wanting more
Suppose that's not surprisin'

Cronulla mornings are like no others
The most beautiful place on Earth
When you're a local one discovers
The beauty and what it's worth

Having a morning surf and swim
It's a habit that's hard to break
Disappointment is very slim
Whenever you come and partake

So savour the moment you see below
Cherish the place we live
When it comes to leaving it's hard to go
This place has so much to give

This is a daily ritual for me every morning at my local beach of Cronulla in Sydney, Australia..... a sunrise surf or swim.
I have decided to post several shots over the next couple of days of local photographer Michael Sutton who has captured my local beach and environs in his lens and the accompanying words that were inspired by these photos.
Meter and syllabic count are not perfect and never are with my poetry. It's all in how you say it out aloud and know how to accentuate ,pause and use inflection in the read creating the rhythm and beat of the poems.
