I wait for you

by Sanku

Everyday I recall the hours we shared,
The dainty moments of each dawn.
Our own strong brew warming us to the core,
hush hushed the song of whistling thrush

My afternoon musings are encased in
The languid lunchtime joy.
When our own spice lacing the apple pie,
The cider gave us an extra high

Twilight brings the cerise memories alive
Radiant whispers of passing clouds.
Our own deep passion made the skyline blush
and left us joyful in the dark.

Under the silver moon and twinkling stars
In gay abandon how we danced
our own waltz,our own pirouette,
In those echoes I fall asleep

Days have fallen and I still wait for you
At each footsteps my hope does soar;
I leave the lantern lit in case it's dark
To make easy your steps to my door.
