The legacy lives on

A new proud generation

A NEW PROUD GENERATION

She watches grandad march to the cenotaph
Her eyes so innocent and wide
A legacy of the aftermath
She watches him with pride

She sees his comrades, some hand in hand
Standing proud and although teary
They stand there for their fallen digger mates
No matter how tough or weary

They are ANZACS! So Aussie and true
Standing proud at the epitaph
They are ANZACS!; if these kids only knew?
The significance of this March

It heartens me, to these kids
Making all the effort to show respect
To get up, at the break of dawn
They were our ANZACS! LEST WE FORGET!

So a new day dawns, the sun breaks through
And silhouettes those who have fallen then
Represented by a single soldier
A statue, standing proud, amongst these men!

dip...and...in the morning...We will remember them

Today in Australia is Anzac day. ( Australia and New Zealand army corp)It's a day when we give respect to our Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought so gallantly in shear adversity on the slopes of Gallipoli in Turkey back in 1917. The 25th of April is a day we celebrate those proud soldiers and commemorate their bloody battle. Their children, children now give respect to their fallen forefathers.
