Orion's Belt

Up!
I'm floating,
a puppet on a string.
Higher and higher, there I dangle.
Below, Earth recedes, eternal night looms above.
My arms and legs at an awkward angle,
cannot feel anything.
I'm screaming.
Gone!

Space!
I'm cryin'.
A hapless abductee.
Earthling stolen, never to return.
For what purpose, this human in the mother ship?
Belly churns, I'm cold, I'm hot, I burn.
Star travel I foresee.
Orion's
Belt!

This is a Spaceship form poem created by our own patcelaw (Patricia Lawrence). What is more appropriate than to write a poem about space alien abduction than the spaceship form? Thank you for reading my poetry and thank you Patricia for allowing me to use your form.

Spaceship form: A 9-line poem consisting of 1,3,6,9,12,9,6,3,1 syllables to create the shape of a flying saucer. (This form can be used for any topic.) I don't believe it has to rhyme, but my poem does. It's a fun format.
