Child's story about a new kitty

A chapter in the book Acrostics

Kitty Bunn-Ti

by Oatmeal

When she arrived the kitties looked small

They would try to run but then they would fall

They were learning to run, eat and to fight

She noticed the one that was orange and white

Cream was only one month old

He pranced right up and tried to act bold

Cheri picked him up and kissed him too

It happened so fast, what could Cream do?

Cheri took him home that very night

Boy, the car ride gave him a fright!

One day he asked, "What kind of animal am I?"

She calmly said, "Cream, you are Bunn-Ti"

Cream said that he had never heard of that before

He asked, "Do they hunt or do they roar?"

She explained that his tummy was as soft as a bunny

The tiger stripes made him look awfully funny

"You are a rare breed, your color is cream"

"You, my friend, have fulfilled my greatest dream"

"When your golden eyes look deep into mine"

"When I'm sad they say all will be fine"

"I got you without so much as a fee"

"You came to my home and rescued me"

"The things in my castle don't mean a thing"

"Because here Bunn-Ti, you are the King"

"When I bathe, you sit up on the tub"

"I smile, relax, then give you a rub"

"Within my heart you bring so much joy"

"Cream, baby, you are my precious boy"

Cream felt happy and a little more brave.

He tried to grow up. He tried to behave.

She said, "You know, I'm old compared to you"

"But Bunn-Ti, I've never had a friend so true."

"When you came here my life had just begun."

"I'm the queen here, but you're #1"
