As You Opened The Door

Darling, as you opened the door
to your loving heart
I found in you, my dream
and soon we had a new start.

You were so gentle
you were so very kind
a man I longed for
but, thought I'd never find.

You accepted me in love
though I had an awful story,
in the end we married
and lived life for God's glory.

Now my darling, it's so long
since you died leaving me in tears
I still cherish the wonderful times
we spent together for many years.
