I got up early, had a light breakfast, and stared at the phone. I was expecting Julie to call and say she couldn't go through with it. She had a great life with me and I was really confused as to why she was so enamored with the UPS Driver.
At seven and nine years old, my children kept asking why Mommy was not living home anymore. I had to be their rock. "Mommy needs some time alone," I told them. They cried, not understanding how she could abandon them. I felt terrible. I had no answers and hated Julie for doing this to them, to us.
The doorbell rang and I looked at the clock. My sister was right on schedule to watch the kids. I kissed them both goodbye, and left. In the car I phoned an acquaintance. "Kill her. I want it to look like an accident."
