Daddy

by Lulube

Don't stand there quibbling
'bout your young daughter's life
Do something about it!
You're her daddy, forever
and into eternity

Get to know her inner thoughts
and tell her you're proud
Proud that she's your daughter

Give her lots of hugs
So tight
she feels you'll never
let her go
Don't wait to watch her fall
into anybody's arms
she needs to feel loved now
and misses her daddy

Go to her, Daddy
Go and see your little girl
Tell her you love her
today and always
even if you get mad
you'll always love her

Inspire her to dream
Convince her that dreams
do come true, 'cause one of
your long ago dreams
is now cuddled up beside you

Oh Daddy, your daughter
she needs all of you
Not just your voice
coming through a cell phone
showing your concerns
with a roar

She's delicate, dear Daddy
and confused
She's entered into
the teenage hormones
that can drive some
clear out of their minds

They know not what to do
Show her, Daddy
by telling her in your
softest, most tender voice
that she's bound to find
bumpy roads ahead and at times
life may seem too tough
but she's not alone
for it's not just her
who feels these emotions

It's a part of life and
with wise choices that
she'll need to make and
refraining from letting friends
pull her into their messes
by staying clear of them
she'll make it through
high school just fine

Reassure her that you'll
be there for her and that
all she needs to do is call

Go to her, Daddy
fill her with your wisdom
Tease her, make her laugh
and laugh with her
and let her cry on your shoulder

You are her Daddy, forever
and into eternity

The photo represents Daddy's hand and the pigeon is his little girl. In trust and love, his little girl can go to him, and he's there for her.
